Intro

Hello world! I am Sid Dusi, an incoming 4th year at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Currently, I am studying Computer Science at the Jack Baskin School of Engineering looking to land a role in the professional software development industry.

A few traits about me:

Professional Passions:

Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in computer science at the University of California, Santa Cruz - more specifically, I hope to specialize in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Ever since Tesla marketed cars with self-driving technology, I became curious about the field and how we can make everyday machines smarter to improve our lives. To further discover and develop my passion and my knowledge for this fascinating field, I’ve taken some introductory courses and camps to get a sense of what I would be dealing with. By exploring certain concepts of machine learning such as creating a basic neural network for programs that will learn to predict the best line of fit for a given set of data is just one of many things I have worked on to get a better understanding of this field. Playing around with the concept of genetic algorithms and using it to force the computer to guess a certain phrase that the user inputs had also shown me the brilliance of a computer. With the realization that we can make the computer behave exactly as we want it to (like a human being), the things we can do with this power is truly limitless. The process of coding these programs had also given me a first-person experience as to what a computer science engineer does and their responsibilities. In the future, I would love to work as a computer science engineer with a specialization in the field of artificial intelligence in order to help further develop the automation of everyday tasks to help aid in making more efficient technological advancements.

More About Me...

Music:

Outside of my career and academics, music plays a huge role in my life. I've played the saxophone since the age of 10 and have self taught myself how to play the guitar and piano. I have also picked up a huge interest in learning how to dj and have played for multiple events at my college and am always trying to learn new techniques and skills in the realm of dj'ing.

Sports:

I am also huge into the outdoors and leading a healthy life. In my free time, I love to go on runs, explore nature, play a pickup game of basketball or football, or just go to the gym. I’ve, in fact, ran multiple triathlons before, ran for my high school track and field team, and have also played for my high school’s football team. In addition to all of this, I am proud to say that I am also a second degree black belt.

With a keen interest in learning how to take aestehetic pioctures and being the huge outdoors person that I am, it was only right of me to start documenting all of the glorious sights and experiences that I have seen. Although I am no professional, this is something I definitely want to learn more about and continue experimenting with!

Cars:

Cars are arguably one of my biggest passions. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve become completely awe-struck at the extraordinary advancements in engineering to make supercars and hypercars go faster and faster. The raw emotion and feel of these highly exotic and upper echelon cars has done nothing but only motivate me to work harder and harder in the hopes that I could one day be able to own and experience these machines on my own.
